Flexo & Repro Platemaking

for Packaging Converters

Polyflex supports packaging converters in their growth by constantly upgrading our flexographic platemaking and reprographic services. As innovation and research continue to lead to new advancements, we remain at the forefront, ensuring our customers are the first to benefit from cutting-edge flexographic prepress technology and solutions.

How to achieve gravure-quality printing with flexo?

Polyflex is a certified supplier of Crystal XPS and HD Flexo plates, offering the next generation of high-quality flexo printing. These advanced processes are leading the way in digital flexographic platemaking, bridging the gap between flexo, gravure, and offset printing.

Our high-quality plates produce vibrant, consistent results, ensuring the highest print standards. Speak to your Polyflex representative to discuss your press needs.

New press or improved efficiency?

What’s slowing you down? Achieve faster, cleaner, and more efficient press uptime with our flexo platemaking and reprographic services.

We offer a range of hardware and software solutions to address:

- Pin holing
- Ink lay on spot colours
- Longer repeat prints
- Faster press speeds
- Butt joins
- Seamless plate solutions

Struggling with inconsistent colour?

Inconsistent colour results from a lack of standardised prepress processes. From image profiles in Photoshop to ICC press profiles on proofers, every step matters. Polyflex sets ISO standards for all our proofers, ensuring your packaging meets global quality benchmarks.

As your partner, we will help you standardise your packaging across all substrates, guaranteeing consistent colour reproduction and quality.

Need higher impact printing quality?

With the rise in demand for shorter production runs, particularly for targeted campaigns, printers need to meet these demands efficiently. Polyflex offers Expanded Colour Gamut (ECG) printing, converting spot colours to a fixed ink set, which reduces downtime between jobs and increases productivity.

Benefits of Expanded Colour Gamut printing:

- Reduced press downtime
- Reduced wash-ups on the press
- Increased productivity in the press room
- Lower ink stock and reduced production costs

Increase the life span
of your plates

The lifespan of a flexo plate is not solely determined by run length but also by factors such as handling, cleaning, ink chemistry, substrate contact, and storage.

Polyflex can audit your production site and suggest improvements in these areas to maximise the lifespan of your plates and reduce costs.

Stay profitable with shorter print runs

As shorter production runs for targeted campaigns increase, printers must adapt to meet these challenges in a time- and cost-effective manner.

Expanded Colour Gamut (ECG) printing, using a fixed 7-colour ink set, reduces downtime between jobs and offers high-quality printing with significantly lower costs than traditional spot colour printing.

Benefits of the new
photopolymer technology

Flexographic platemaking continues to improve annually, and we’re leading the way in applying these technologies for optimal performance.

Whether you need better print resolution, improved solid ink transfer, smaller printed highlights, or better ink resistance, we ensure your flexographic plates deliver the best results for your press.

Solid ink density VS
dot gain?

Solid ink density is traditionally used to control the printing process. However, the spread of ink (dot gain) as it makes contact with the substrate can affect print quality. Dot gain, or Tonal Value Increase (TVI), occurs when the ink covers a larger percentage of the surface than the digital dot on the plate.

We can help you set these standards and recommend the proper tools for measuring dot gain and solid ink density to achieve consistent, high-quality prints.

One report to prepare for the next print run

We have developed a print instruction report that shows ink separations, coverage, and print sequence.

This tool is essential for resolving complex design challenges and ensuring optimal print results. These reports can be customised to meet your specific needs.

Reduce consumable costs with better plate handling

Handling plates carefully can significantly reduce consumable costs. We offer plate handling training on cutting, mounting, taping, cleaning, and storing of polymer plates.

If a special join is required, we can pre-cut the plates to assist with mounting, reducing handling errors and costs.

Do you know your prepress costs?

Our MIS PIVOT system offers full transparency into your prepress costs, tracking customer profiles, quotes, work ticket data, timelines, and real-time expenses. By leveraging AI, we provide fast, accurate job processing while maintaining high quality and flexibility.

Customised reports can track costs associated with author corrections, plate usage, and overall efficiency. Get in touch for tailored reporting solutions to help you manage your prepress expenses.

One report that helps you
prepare the next print run

Colorimetry, or colour measurement, is critical for ensuring print consistency. We use advanced instruments like spectrophotometers to measure the spectral reflectance of objects, mimicking human vision. This process allows us to ensure consistent colour results from proof to final print.
